WND Terminal

Everything your users need from a 3270 emulator. Nothing they have to relearn.

A fast, signed Windows desktop app built on public standards, with the importers, keyboard fidelity and security controls large organizations require.

Connectivity

Capabilities

Feature overview

Bring Reflection session and keymap files and IBM PCOMM profiles across in minutes. Extra! sessions convert through Reflection format.

Keyboard fidelity

PF1–PF24, PA1–PA3, Clear, Reset, Attn and SysReq. A keymap editor with presets that mirror familiar emulators.

Modern desktop

Tabbed sessions, crisp scalable fonts, field-aware copy and paste, hotspots and a clear status line.

Printing

TN3270E printer sessions to any Windows printer or PDF, plus print-screen with headers and footers.

File transfer

IND$FILE transfers between PC and host in both directions, with text and binary modes.

Central configuration

Push signed profiles and keymaps through a file share, Intune or HTTPS. Lock settings and export usage for licensing.

Encryption

TLS 1.2 and 1.3 through a FIPS 140-3 validated cryptographic module, with client certificates from the Windows certificate store.

Flight recorder

Capture the 3270 data stream with screen contents redacted by default, then replay it to pinpoint any display issue.

Accessibility

Screen-reader support for JAWS and NVDA, high-contrast themes and full keyboard navigation. VPAT available on request.

Roadmap

Where WND Terminal is going

We build what customers need next, in the open. Current priorities:

Browser access gateway

A container you run in your own data centre or cloud account, with SSO, so users can reach the host from a browser. Shipped as an OCI image, Helm chart and VM appliance.

Automation and RPA

An HLLAPI-compatible automation interface for UiPath, Power Automate and Blue Prism, plus macro record and playback.

AI assistance

Plain-English help on any screen, macros written from a recorded session, and legacy macros converted automatically with human review.

More hosts

TN5250 for IBM i, VT over SSH for Unix hosts, and Mac and Linux desktops.

See it on your own mainframe

Install it on a handful of PCs, import your existing sessions and keymaps, and let a real team use it next to what you run today. Free, two to four weeks, no commitment.
